TurboKast Studio › Custom software in Dundee

Custom software for Dundee small businesses, at a fixed price.

TurboKast Studio is based in Dundee. We build the tools a small business runs on: online booking, quotes and jobs, rotas, enquiry tracking and dashboards. You deal with one person, Liam Humphreys, and you can meet him face to face.

Who this is for

Dundee businesses of about 3 to 50 people where the work lives in spreadsheets, a shared inbox, WhatsApp, paper or one person’s head. We have written about the shape of the problem for trades firms, pubs, hotels and caterers, dental, vet and therapy practices. A landscaping firm in Dundee is the system we have live today.

If a standard app already does what you need, use it. We say so on the first call.

What we build

  • Booking and ordering: online booking for appointments, tables, tours or site visits, or order forms with pickup and delivery slots, with the diary your team already works from.
  • Quotes and jobs: an enquiry that becomes a quote and then a job, with the rota and a phone view for people out on the job.
  • Enquiry tracking: every web enquiry in one list with an owner and a reply-due time, so none sits unseen.
  • Dashboards and automations: confirmations, reminders, quote chasers and a weekly numbers page from figures you already keep.
  • Joining things up: connecting the accounts, email and payment tools you already pay for so nobody types the same thing twice.

A system we have built

A Dundee landscaping and garden-maintenance firm of about seven staff had jobs, the rota and the quote calculator in three separate spreadsheets. We built one web app for the office and for crews on their phones: customers, jobs, recurring maintenance visits, a rota, quotes, time recording and invoicing through QuickBooks. It is live. The owner's week is far easier: assigning and keeping track of work is a breeze, invoices go out from the same place through QuickBooks, and each customer's history sits in one place. We are not publishing time-saved figures, and the client is not named.

Meeting in Dundee

The first conversation is free and you choose the form. Book a 15-minute call by phone or video, almost any weekday, or a coffee: face to face, any weekday 9:30 to 16:00, in a café near you. Liam pays for the coffee. There is no pitch deck either way, and no obligation to buy anything.

Our registered office is 29 Commercial Street, Dundee DD1 3DG (see TurboKast Ltd on Companies House). We do not meet clients at that address.

How a job runs

  1. A free 15-minute call, or a coffee

You tell us how the work flows today and what is slow or error-prone. No cost, no pitch deck. If a ready-made tool would do the job, we will say so.

  2. A written fixed quote

What we will build, what it costs, and a one-page Scope and Success Criteria Schedule so you know exactly what “done” means. The quote is free and yours to keep, whether or not you go ahead.

  3. Fixed-price build

We build to the quote and show you working software every week. The code, hosting and domain are set up in your own accounts from day one.

  4. Handover, and an optional care plan

A plain-English handover document is kept in your repository. After launch, Care or Care+ are optional.

Questions people ask first

Do you only work with firms in Dundee?

No. We are based in Dundee, and first meetings are face to face anywhere in Tayside or Fife, but the build itself is done remotely, so we work with small businesses across Scotland. Because the code, hosting and domain are in your own accounts, where we sit makes no difference to what you own.

Can we meet in person?

Yes. Book a coffee and we will meet in a café near you, any weekday between 9:30 and 16:00, for about 45 minutes. It is free and Liam buys the coffee. If you would rather start with a phone or video call, the 15-minute call is free too.

How much does custom software cost for a Dundee small business?

Fix One Thing is £249 for one narrow job in 7 to 10 days. A single-job tool is from £749 in 2 to 3 weeks. A connected business hub is from £1,490 in 4 to 6 weeks, subject to written terms. All prices are fixed for the scope written in the quote, there are no per-user fees, and we are not VAT registered. The first conversation and the written quote are free.

Is there an office I can visit?

TurboKast Ltd is registered at 29 Commercial Street, Dundee DD1 3DG, as its registered office on Companies House. We do not meet clients there. We meet in a café near you or on a call.

Who actually builds it?

Liam Humphreys, who you deal with directly. We build with AI coding assistants directed by Liam and checked by automated tests on every change, which is how we can quote fixed prices below typical agency rates. We do not yet have a named backup developer, so the code, hosting and domain sit in your accounts and any competent developer can take over.

What if a ready-made app already does it?

Then use it. A standard booking or job app is usually cheaper, and we will say so on the call. We are worth a call when your process has a twist that those tools handle badly, or when you would rather pay once than per user per month for ever.
